Guide to Boston: Nightlife & Entertainment
With such a large and fluctuating student population, Boston's nightlife is as diverse as they come. Between bars, restaurants, nightclubs, galleries, and music venues, you should have no trouble keeping busy until the wee hours of the morning. If none of that works for you, you can always try out an old-fashioned Irish pub.
Boston's Club Scene
Big on night clubs? Check out Avalon in The Fenway, where you can dance the night away to the pumping rhythms of Boston's hippest DJs (FYI: Sunday is gay night). Want some more local flavor? Club Passim, located in Harvard Square, is almost single-handedly responsible for keeping Boston's folk music scene alive.
Bohemian Rhapsodies
Other options include Central Square's Bohemian parlor, Enormous Room, or Allston's Great Scott--a haven for Boston's indie bands. Both provide a laid-back atmosphere. If you want the real urban-Irish-pub experience, try hitting up Lucky's in South Boston.
Boston's High Art Culture
For higher culture, check out the Theatre District. Any night of the week, you can see a variety of well-reviewed shows, or even take in an opera.
For a happening nightlife, few cities can offer the same variety as Boston. Whatever your tastes in music, cocktails, or entertainment, Boston has something for everyone.
