Connecticut Colleges and Universities
Connecticut may be the third smallest state in the land, but its colleges and universities have big reputations. Situated between New York City and Boston, Connecticut has its own share of lakes, rivers, and easy access to major ski resorts and dazzling Atlantic beaches. Within the state, students can visit cities of Hartford and New Haven, homes to fine restaurants, museums, and cultural events.
The most famous of Connecticut's colleges and universities is New Haven's renowned Yale University, founded in 1702, the third-oldest college in the country. Other school choices are equally stunning, with the University of Connecticut, located in Storrs, Hartford's Trinity College, and Wesleyan University, located in Middletown. For those with a military-commercial maritime focus, New London is home to the United States Coast Guard Academy.
