Considering Florida colleges and universities? The Everglade State's oldest college, University of Florida, located in Gainesville, is also one of its largest. Florida boasts more than 120 private schools and 40 public colleges. The state system hosts Tallahassee's Florida State University, and Orlando's University of Central Florida. The University of Miami is a popular private school option.
