Lawrence Colleges and Universities

Located on the banks of the Kansas and Wakarusa rivers, Lawrence, Kansas is approximately half an hour west of Kansas City. Though the city is home to over 80,000 residents, Lawrence has the feel of a college town, and students of Lawrence colleges and universities can be found enjoying the local live music scene, dancing at the Grenada, and cocktails at Teller's. This public school is the largest university in the state, with a combined fall 2007 enrollment of over 30,000 at its three locations. Lawrence colleges and universities also feature the Haskell Indian Nations University, which offers four-year degree programs and free tuition to members of registered Native American tribes.
