Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Nursing "Is improving lives and strengthening our community by providing exceptional nursing education." As a diploma nursing program, we prepare nurses for entry-level practice. The graduate will be able to practice nursing safely and effectively as a novice in a generalist setting. The graduate nurse accepts the responsibility for continuing the process of personal and professional growth in the advancement from novice to expert. Faculty members expect the graduate to serve as a positive role model in the practice setting by demonstrating caring, pursuing excellence, promoting service and reflecting integrity. The program provides graduates with a foundation to accept responsibility to develop and maintain their expertise in practice and accountability to the public.
