Mission Statement
Excelsior College exists to expand educational opportunity, with efficiency, economy, and academic excellence, and with a particular concern for those historically underrepresented in higher education. The College meets students where they are academically, geographically, and technologically and personally assists them in reaching their goals by offering a full range of flexible academic options. The College seeks to meet the needs of a pluralistic society, increasingly dependent on an informed and educated citizenry. It focuses upon the needs of the individual student, primarily adults, who want to advance themselves in a flexible, self-paced manner, using a variety of faculty approved learning resources, frequently at a distance.
