Mission Statement
The mission of Gratz College, expressed through its four divisions (the College and Graduate School, Netzky Division of Continuing Education, the Jewish Community High School and the Tuttleman Library) is to promote passionate lifelong learning of Jewish culture, tradition, religion, ethics and Hebrew language, to imbue its graduates with professional skills and knowledge, and to enhance a deep understanding of Judaism and its contribution to the spirituality that many seek in the contemporary world. To achieve this goal, Gratz College is focused on producing passionate Jewish teachers, professionals and community leaders through engaging teaching methods that immerse students in their studies through the following efforts: To achieve these goals, Gratz must: * Expand the designing and use of curricula that blend Jewish principles with a mix of academic theory and real world practicality; * Continue to attract distinguished and highly qualified scholars/teachers; * Support a personalized learning environment for a diverse trans-denominational student body. * Leverage its world-class academic faculty and graduate students in providing educational outreach to the Jewish community through its adult and high school programs. * Utilize the Jewish community as a living laboratory for testing new ideas and innovative concepts for its educators, with the mission to enhance Jewish continuity through Jewish education, music, arts, and communal service.School Characteristics
