Mission Statement

The following University purposes have evolved over the years through the self-study assessment processes for accreditation: 1 Sinte Gleska University will serve as a bridge to off-reservation institutions by providing a successful on-reservation experience of higher education. 2 Sinte Gleska University will provide post- secondary education experiences. 3 Sinte gleska university will work to increase the number of Indian people in middle and upper-management positions. 4 Sinte Gleska University will reflect, strengthen and develop Lakota cultural life. 5 Sinte Gleska University works to establish national leadership in tribally-controlled education. 6 Sinte Gleska university works to establish mechanisms for improving the quality of life on the Rosebud Reservation. 7 Sinte Gleska University will develop individuals who are citizens of the world with a solid understanding of Lakota life and the ability to prosper in contemporary society.
