Huntington Colleges and Universities

If you're looking for a college town that offers both history and good eating, Huntington, West Virginia, should make your short list. Huntington holds several festivals every year, complete with the chili cook-off of Chilifest in September. Cooks with secret recipes come from all over West Virginia and other states for a chance at the prize for best chili. A Civil War festival commemorating culture and fallen soldiers also takes place every year.

As far as education goes in Huntington, it is a tragic but triumphant story for Marshall University, which in 1970 lost its entire football team in an airplane crash.
